FOSSIL LAUREL LEAF, OLD DIG, NICE SPECIMEN

Description

Fossil Laurel leaf (most likely). Old label with blue fountain pen ink.  Label says: Cemead(?) Leaf, Probably Laurel. I am not the hunter, digger or Paleontologist, I am a collector. This is from a “box-o-rocks” at an estate sale. The other fossils from this box have small labels and all are around the 5 million year old mark in history. The fossil in matrix measures 9 1/4″ x 3 1/8″ x 1/2″.  This has the actual fossil leaf material. Leaf is 3 3/4″ long. There is another leaf of the same type and size below it in the photos. It is more of a ghost image but has some fossil plant material in it.
